We are confident that the Chamber can deliver results. Get involved and you will surely see a difference! There are so many ways to participate and your membership is best leveraged when you have a presence within the Chamber. We offer a wide variety of ways for you to do so, taking into account different budgets and schedules. Opportunities range from advertising and sponsorships, to joining or leading a committee.

 

COMMITTEES OF THE CHAMBER

Every committee is comprised of Chamber member volunteers who want to give back to the community and gain exposure in the marketplace. As we plan an exciting calendar of networking & business opportunities, we encourage you and your employees to join one of our committees. Most committees meet monthly, but some – like the Scholarship and Golf Outing Committees – meet even less. You can be active on as many Committees as you like based upon your interests and schedule.

Chamber Committees

Standing Committees

Are active throughout the year and meet monthly. Check the calendar for dates and times. These commitees include:

Government Relations
Works to bring area legislators and government officials together with the business community through meetings & luncheons. Keeps membership abreast of legislative issues that affect our business community.

Corporate Relations:
Establishes relationships with corporations who will ultimately become partners with the Chamber on either an Annual or Special event basis. Maintains an ongoing relationship with the partner to ensure quality of service.

Marketing & Communications:
Establishes appropriate marketing and public relations for the Chamber and its membership.

Membership:
Works to develop & grow membership for the Chamber. Greets & recruits new members and encourages participation in Chamber activities.

Programming :
Develops, hosts and organizes a variety of programs, seminars & meetings for the professional development & networking benefit of the membership.

Emerging Leaders:
Gives our newest business professionals the opportunity to develop new and innovative programs that meet their business, social and philanthropic needs.

Women 2 Women
Committed to giving women the opportunity to learn from each other in a supportive interactive environment that promotes empowerment in their professional and personal lives.

Special Event Committees:
Are active in the months preceeding the event. They meet monthly or more frequently as needed prior to each event.

Biz Expo
 Business Exposition and Table Top Networking Event.

Golf Outing
Chairperson: Organizes the annual golf outing in July.

Leadership Recognition Banquet
Identifies and honors those businesses and individuals who have made a significant contribution to Essex County, the business community and the Chamber. Coordinates and plans the annual awards banquet honoring the incoming & outgoing Presidents, Board of Directors, and special honorees.

Taste of Essex
Coordinates and runs this culinary extravaganza featuring great Essex County restaurant cuisine accompanied by wine and beer tasting. This event includes a gift auction to benefit the Foundation’s scholarship fund.

Scholarship Selection
Reviews & selects applicants and presents the Foundation scholarship awards to the recipients at the annual awards breakfast.
