Get Going Travel began with something Renee had always loved doing – planning trips for herself, her husband, and their three children. Family members soon began asking her for help with their own vacations, and she realized she could turn her natural talent for travel planning into a business.

She also came away with an unexpected travel lesson: as someone who admits to being a notorious over-packer, she learned that she really can travel with just a carry-on and a personal item!

When asked who inspires her, Renee points to anyone willing to make changes in their life and career, regardless of age. Having recently turned 60, she reflects that 30 years ago she never would have imagined herself as a successful business owner.

Her advice to aspiring entrepreneurs is to be patient and persistent. Building a business from the ground up takes time, and in sales, hearing "no" is part of the journey. The important thing is not to let those setbacks discourage you from moving forward.

Renee has been a member of the North Essex Chamber of Commerce for eight months. She joined to learn from other business owners, both large and small, and looks forward to becoming more involved in the Chamber community.

Giving back is also important to her. Outside of her business, Renee volunteers at her local community garden.

And a fun fact that might surprise people? Renee is the proud parent of triplets!

When she's not helping clients plan their next adventure, it's no surprise that her favorite thing to do is travel herself.
